Abstract


The study aims to examine the presence of an urban project that is processing as a catalytic tool for its context. Through monitoring that urban project's context growth and transformation on different urban elements. The study will examine two different function projects, which established for ten years or later; namely American University in Cairo as an educational project and City Centre as a commercial project. Each of which has its context that has its variable elements and user needs.
Seeking the finding of urban catalysts in Egypt as a developing tool for built up new cities and a growth node for future projects. The study provides governmental, private and related sectors with a tool for dealing with the lack of growth problem in new cities of Egypt.
