Magdy Khairy Abd EI-Shafy Abd El-Whab;

Abstract

ANP and BNP, are circulating horniones that are mainly secretd from cardiac cells and exert potent diuretric, natriuretic, vasodilatory activities and complex interactions with other hormonal and nervous systems; eg. Antagonism of the remn angiotensin - aldosterone system secretion. Plasma levels of BNP were found to be significantly elevated and often exceed the levels of ANP in patients and in experimental animal models with renal failure.

In this study we evaluate the plasma level of BNP in diabetic patients type 2 in the different stages of diabetic nephropathy.
