Synthesis of nano-nickel metal loaded on different supports for reduction of organic compounds
Amira Maher Mahmoud Ali;
Abstract
Nickel nanoparticles and Ni supported on different supports such as kaolin, silica, zeolite, cordierite and polymer were prepared by using a solution of nickel nitrate of appropriate concentrations in order to obtain catalysts with different concentrations of Ni from (2.5 - 10%) and reduced with hydrazine hydrate in the presence of alkali and used in the reduction of p-nitrophenol to p- aminophenol.
The prepared Ni catalysts were characterized by X-ray and SEM before and after the reduction of p-nitrophenol to p-aminophenol.
The results of X-ray showed that the degree of crystallinity of nano nickel particles was decreased after the reduction of p-nitrophenol and SEM showed agglomeration of nano nickel particles after the reduction of p-nitrophenol
