MAXIMIZING OF DISTRIBUTION UNIFORMITY FOR DRIP IRRIGATION SYSTEM USING CLOSED-CIRCUITS

AYA MOHAMED ALI ABOKORA;

Abstract

Distribution uniformity is considered one of more effective
element that determine the success of designs, it is also an important
factor that used to predict maximum length of lateral and optimum
operating pressures, there were some problems and constraints that leads
to a decrease in uniformity as a problem of water pressure reduction of
the sub-lines ends and then started the trend to add modifications attempt
to develop the traditional irrigation system. Using the closed circuits of
irrigation systems is one way of these amendments to obtain a better
water distribution to drip irrigation network.
The experiments of this study were designed to achieve the following
objectives: -
1) Enhancing the drip irrigation distribution uniformity by solving
the problem of pressure reduction at the lateral line ends.
2) Recommend the better types of dripper to be applied in the
laboratory experiment.
3) Studying some hydraulic parameters like pressure head, friction
head losses on system performance.
4) Studying the effect of different drip irrigation designs and lateral
line lengths on both laterals dripper flow rate, uniformity
coefficient, and coefficient of variation.
5) Monitoring the pressure performance along the drip irrigation
network
