Maternal plasma 25-hydroxyvitamin D level and pregnancy outcome

Alaa Mohamed Mohsen El Said;

Abstract

Maternal vitamin D deficiency is a widespread public health problem as the prevalence of inadequate and deficient vitamin D status in pregnant women ranges from 5 to 84% globally. Some experts have suggested that Serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] of less than 30 ng/ml is considered as insufficient level ( ACOG Committee Opinion¸2011).
