Intervention Study To Reduce Growth Retardation among Stunted Egyptian Children
Manal Mohamed Anwar Abdou;
Abstract
An intervention at study of 200 Stunted Egyptian children to asses the impacts of
' ' '
micronutrients
.. supplementation on height gain. Anthropometric measurements, laboratory investigations showed
final mean HAZ = -2.5 ± 0.77 for group one (regularly supplemented) with a p=0.009. Height gain was highly influenced by paternal height, economic status with p-value = 0.002, 0.045 respectively. Comparing baseline and fmal micronutrient analysis within groups one and two revealed a p=O.OOO, comparing both groups showed a significant difference for baseline serum micronutrient
levels except vit.E, whereas, only final serum zinc level was statistically significant (p=0.016).
