Abstract


The aim of the Study to assess diaphragmatic mobility by chest ultrasonography and echocardiographic changes in mechanically ventilated COPD patients on different modes of ventilation and find relations between different factors.
The present stud was conducted upon fifty mechanically ventilated COPD patients. The study was performed at Ain Shams University hospitals and Abbassia chest hospital during the period between August 2016 and Jun 2018.
All the patients was be submitted to Full history and general, local examination, Electro cardiogram (ECG),Chest x-ray A-P view, Some routine laboratory investigations such as: complete blood count (CBC), hepato – renal profile and electrolytes, Assessment of diaphragmatic mobility using base line chest ultrasound at different modes of mechanical ventilation (VC, PC, SIMV, PS) in the same session and Assessment of end diastolic volume, ejection fraction and right side systolic pressure using transthoracic echocardiography at different modes of mechanical ventilation (VC, PC, SIMV, and PS) in the
