Abstract


his study was conducted on 171 patients who presented to the cardiology department of Ain Shams university hospital, with acute STEMI and underwent successful primary PCI.
Patients admitted to the coronary care unit were analyzed thoroughly and data was recorded {Full history taking, clinical examination, 12 lead surface ECG, CK total and CK-MB, coronary angiographic details and 2D-transthoracic echocardiography and 3D-STE in the first 48 hours}.
Medical treatment of STEMI was given to subjects as per hospital protocol.
Patients with cardiogenic shock, hemodynamic instability and AF were excluded.
All patients have been closely followed up all-over a year following the index primary PCI for the occurrence of major adverse cardio-vascular events (MACE) .
