A Study of Dopamine D2 Receptor Taq1 A Alleles in Children with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

Marwa Mohamed Moro;

Abstract

Conner scale results distribution of our enrolled
ADHD children 78% of them had significant inattention,
66% showed significant hyperactivity; and a significant total
ADHD index 74%. Meanwhile, 74% of our studied sample
has been proven to have severe type of ADHD on ADHD
scale assessment.
In the current study; analysis of dopamine D2 TAq1A
polymorphism revealed significantly more prevalent A1
allele phenotype among studied ADHD while A2 allele was
significantly more prevalent in controls (X2= 4.337,
p=0.037). On the other hand; Genotypes A2A2, A1A2, were
significantly more prevalent among encountered in ADHD
cases compared to controls (p=0.027, 0.047 respectively).
Lastly A1A1genotype showed statistically in significant
difference comparing cases and controls.
