Abstract

A magnetized ZIF-8 impregnated with NaOH, is used as a new transesterification nano-catalyst. The combined effects of the molar ratio of alcohol to oil, and catalyst concentration have been investigated and optimized. Optimum conditions for the production of ethyl esters are as follows: temperature 75oC, reaction time 90 min, molar ratio 21:1 and catalyst loading 1wt%. And for methyl esters are as follows: temperature 65oC, reaction time 60 min, molar ratio 21:1 and catalyst loading 3wt%
