A study of Strong and Weak Interactions in the Standard Model and Beyond
Sherif Ahmed Moussa Abd ElFatah;
Abstract
Now there is no doubt that the standard model (SM) is in very good agreement with the current experimental results, but there are some problems which are not completely set tled. One of which is the difficulty to extract information about the scalar mesons (which is described by the strong gauge SU(3)c)• This because in the low energy limit the coupling constant increases and the perturbative approach is not reliable in this regime.
Nowadays there are very strong evidences that neutrinos oscillate, that is they have masses. This is another problem, which can't be explained within the frame work of SM, it is a problem beyond the SM. In the SM the neutrinos are taken to be massless since there are no right-handed neutrinos or exotic Higges fields. To include right handed neutrinos or new Higges fields that would be something beyond the SM.
