EFFECT OF OXYTETRACYCLINE AND IVERMECTIN ON IMMUNE RESPONSE TO PNEUMO-S VACCINE IN CATTLE
SAMY SAAD SHAFIK;
Abstract
Twenty eight calves of 6 months age, five pregnant cow dams and their five offsprings were used in this study. Sera of these animals were collected after being tested proved to be free from specific antibodies against BVD, IBR and PI-3 viruses. Calves were divided into seven groups each of four calves.
First, second and third were vaccinated with pneumo-3 vaccme (locally prepared inactivated BVD, IBR, PI-3 viruses) and treated with oxytrac® (before, simultaneously and after vaccination). The second three groups also ran a parallel course of that first three groups except that calves were treated with Ivomax® while the seventh group kept as control (vaccinated only and not medicated with •any therapeutics).
