ANALYTICAL STUDY ON SOME CARDIOVASCULAR AND RESPIRATORY DRUGS
Samah Abd- Elsabour Mohamed;
Abstract
Part I: General introduction:
This part includes general introduction about the chemistry of these drugs and their pharmacological action followed by the reported methods used for their quantitative determination.
Part II: Stability indicating methods for the determination of trimetazidine dihydrochloride:
In this part three methods were developed for the determination of trimetazidine in the presence of its acid degradation products.
This part includes three sections
Section (A): Thin layer chromatography (TLC) densitometric method:
In this section densitometric determination of trimetazidine dihydrochloride using methanol: ammonia (100: l.5 v/v) as a mobile phase and the chromatogram was scanned at 215 nm.
Good linearity was obtained in the concentration range 2.00-9.00 1-lg I spot with mean percentage accuracy 99.82 ± 0.92 %.
The efficiency of this method was assessed by applying it to the laboratory prepared mixtures of the intact drug with its degradates, the obtained results retained its accuracy in the presence of up to 90 %of its degradates.
The method was checked for the validity by applying the standard addition technique in metacardia tablet.
Section (8): First derivative spectrophotometric method ( D 1t.
'
In this section tirst derivative spectophotometric method was used for the
determination of trimetazidine dihydrochloride in the presence of acid degradation
