Abstract


During the past two decades, several studies has been focused on women's role in agriculture and related activities. The great differences between the existed circumstances and conditions in bedouin and rural community and environment in addition to the limited studies which have been carried out throw the light on the need to investigate and compare women's role in such communities. Therefore, the main aim of the present study was directed to find out the factores which might affect the role of rural and bedouin women in some agricultural activities.


In order to achieve the objectives of the current study, the plan of work was set to assess the women's role in two Egyptian governorate i.e. Ismailia and North Sinai to represent the two different communities. One village was selected from Ismailia governorate namely El-Wasfaya as a rural community. Three villages belonging to El-Sheikh Zoied center were selected to represent North Sinai governorate as bedouin community.
