PREDECTORS OF FAILURE OF ARTERIO-VENOUS FISTULAE FOR MAINTENANCE HEAMODIALYSIS
ALAA HELMY BEKHEET;
Abstract
Long term hemodialysis remains the most important support for patients with chronic renal failure, and reliable vascular access is an essential component of this management plan. Unfortunately vascular access carries a high morbidity and complications.
In this study, the most commonly used types of A-V fistulae were evaluated with stress on factors affecting success and complications of these conduits.
The sixty patients (55% males and 45% females, with mean age of 47.50 ±11.10 years) were classified into two equal group that were assigned as group I and group II. The two groups were studied as regards . the patients demographics (age - sex), history of Primary illness leading to CRF (if known), Duration of CRF, history of previous angioaccess.
