Synthesis of heterocyclic compounds containing nitrogen and/or sulfur via bromoacetyl thiazoles

Abstract


This work has been carried out to investigate the

2,3-Dihydro-1,3,4-thiadiazoles were synthesized via reaction of C-(4-methyl-2-phenyl)-thiazol-5-oyl-N-phenylhydrazonoyl bromides with each of alkyl carbodithioates, thiocarbamates or 2-phenyl-1,3,4- oxadiazol-2-thione m chloroform containing triethylamine. Also, hydrazonoyl bromide reacts with each of o-phenylenediamine, o-aminothiophenol or o-aminophenol to afford corresponding azines in good yield.
5-Bromoacetyl-4-methyl-2-phenylthiazole reacts with cyanothio­
acetarnide in ethanol to give thiazolylacetonitrile. The latter was reacted with various chemical reagents such as salicaldehyde, benzaldehyde, a-substituted cinnamonitrile, diazonium chloride,.. ..etc, to give hetero- cyclic compounds containing thiazole. I
All the synthesized compounds were established on the basis of
elemental analy is, spectral data, and alternative method synthesis whenever possible.
