In Vitro Study to Evaluate the Effect of Two Bleaching Techniques on Color Stability of Laminate Veneer of Two Dental Ceramic Materials

Ayat Ahmed Awad Elbadry;

Abstract

T
he purpose of this in vitro study was to evaluate the color change of two dental ceramic materials (Lithium disilicate ceramic and hybrid ceramic) after bleaching with two types of bleaching agents (hydrogen peroxide and carbamide peroxide) with different concentration.
A total number of thirty two disc shaped ceramic specimens were fabricated in this study. The specimens were divided into 2 equal groups of 16 specimens according to the type of the ceramic material used, either Lithium disilicate IPS e-max CAD, or hybrid ceramic Vita Enamic. Then each group was further subdivided into two equal subgroups, of 8 specimens each, according to the bleaching system utilized, either in office bleaching represented by (WHITEsmile 32% hydrogen peroxide) or at home bleaching represented by (WHITEsmile 35% carbamide peroxide).
