Abstract

The medical significance of Gram negative bacilli in causing serious diseases in animals and human directed us to study lipopolysaccharide which is the main component of outer cell membrane of gram negative bacilli and have a variety of immune responses to sever infection so can be used in broad applications of cell stimulation experiments and scientific researches.
The objective of this study to investigate the immune modulatory effect of LPS on isolated monocyte from goat and its cytotoxic effect. Also to figure out the gene expression alteration induced by LPS.
For this purpose:
- Eight to ten milliliters of whole blood were collected from jugular vein of twenty animals on heparinized sterile screw capped tube and transported in ice box to the laboratory for isolation of monocyte cells by adding Ficoll solution and tissue culture techniques.
