SIMER MOHAMED DAGHASH;

Abstract

The present work was conducted to determine awareness and establish reasons for using plastination as a method of preservation.
• The study included 3 parts: first plastination of various viscera of small ruminants especially goats (caprine). The technique and method of specimen's preparation was conducted and demonstrated in the study. Second, A descriptive survey was carried out as the plastination method of preservation compared to formalinized (wet) specimens. The study was carried out amongst 400 veterinary students randomly • sampled from 4 faculties in Egypt. A research questionnaire was conducted.
It was found that 95.5 % of the sample recommended plastination as a method of preservation while 4.5 % did not recommend it. Third the computer program included most of the data of plastination carried out in the study and instructions of use, virtual reality, and self-assessment.
The present study increased awareness of usmg plastination as a method of preservation and a more helpful clean and dry tool used in teaching more safe and preferable than formaline (wet) specimens, being non toxic and harmless to human beings and environment
Discussion of results with previous workers and authors was conducted.

An advisory conclusion was given.
