Mohamed Ahmed Radwan Mostafa;

Abstract

All patients had full history of Cardiovascular risk
factors (HTN DM, Smoking, …), New York Heart Association
(NYHA) Class, Drug History and, BMI, Complete Blood Film,
Kidney functions (Serum Creatinine), Liver Function (INR), 12
lead surface ECG and echocardiography, all of which were
done on hospital admission for patient with acute heart failure.
The improvement in functional capacity and exercise
tolerance was evaluated by 6MWT and the improvement in the
health related quality of life was measured by MLHFQ.
The MLHFQ and the 6MWT were done before start of
ivabradine with other anti-failure treatment of acute heart
failure and after one month of the treatment.
There was highly significant improvement in the
functional capacity and the health related quality of life as
evidenced by improvement in heart rate, the NYHA class, the
6MWD in both study groups.
