Abstract


O
titis media with effusion (OME) or glue ear is the collection of fluid behind the tympanic membrane without inflammatory signs present for 6 weeks.
In this thesis study we compared the effect of topical intranasal versus oral steroids in treatment of children with Otitis media with effusion as regard improvement of clinical symptoms and audiological findings.
This thesis study was conducted on 30 patients diagnosed according to clinical and audiological assessment as bilateral otitis media with effusion. An informed oral consent was obtained from each patient or control or their legal guardians before enrolment in the study.
The populations included in this study were divided into three groups (each group consists of 10 patients) which are:
 Group A (patients with allergic rhinitis)
