A STUDY ON THE IMPACT OF AGRICULTURAL DRAINAGE ON THE PHYSICAL, CHEMICAL AND BACTERIOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF LAKE QARUN

Abstract

Water pollution is the problem faced by most countries. The aim of this study is to determine the environmental status of Lake Qarun and to monitor the effect of agricultural and domestic drainage on the concentration of pollutants by monitoring some variables that determine water quality. The thesis consists of four chapters: • Chapter 1: Introduction and Objectives of the Study: In this chapter, the importance of water and sources of contaminants was discussed in general, with a focus on the physical, chemical, bacteriological and heavy metals variables, as well as the objectives of the research. • Chapter 2: Literature Review: In this chapter have been addressed previous studies that were exposed to Lake Qarun These studies are listed both on the level of lift stations or drainages that flow into Lake Qarun or the lake itself.
