Umbilicoplasty and ideal insertion of umbilicus in abdominoplasty

Khaled Mohamed Gaber Zaki;

Abstract

Abdominoplasty became one of the most popular and important plastic procedures in alteration of body image due to having the greatest effect on the trunk and thus the whole body shape. It became no longer a mere amputation of flesh, but a whole re-sculpture of the trunk. During the downward pull of the anterior abdominal wall, the umbilicus became involved by being shifted down or even completely removed, which brings up the question of reconstruction.
