Abstract

TURP has been the gold standard to relieve the obstructive symptoms associated with BPH. Endoscopic treatment with transurethral resection of bladder tumor (TURBT) is the first-line treatment to diagnose, stage, and treat visible tumors. Percutaneous nephrolithotomy(PNL) is the standard of care for the management of large upper urinary tract calculi.
Tranexamic acid and Etamsylate are hemostatic agents which are widely used in reducing blood loss or stop bleeding.
The aim of the present study was to evaluate the efficacy of high dose tranexamic acid and etamsylate in reducing blood Loss during TURP, PNL, TURBT and to determine if we can use them as a routine or not.
