Role of laparoscopy in abdominal Trauma Patients

Abstract
All the patients were between 16-55 years old, with no chronic illness. And they must be hemodynamically stable with no signs nor symptoms suggesting peritonitis or GIT bleeding to be included in our study.
After being stabilized and evaluated, our patients undergone laparoscopic examination of the abdomen to assess the presence of intra-abdominal injuries and to decide their repair method either laparoscopically or by conversion to exploratory laparotomy.
In our study there were 21 patients presented with penetrating abdominal trauma (84%) and 4 cases presented with blunt trauma (16%).
The results showed 7 cases (28%) with no detected intra-abdominal injuries and considered negative, the other 18 cases (72%) showed variety of intra-abdominal injuries and considered positive.
