Epidemiology of sexual dysfunction among chronic HCV Egyptian male patients

Abstract
This study aimed at measuring the prevalence of sexual dysfunction among chronic Egyptian HCV male patients attending outpatient clinics of hepatitis treatment units and finding out risk factors related to severity, complications and treatments that affect sexual dysfunction.
Multistage random sample representing governorates and liver severity stage was made to collect 1500 chronic HCV Egyptian male patients from 6 governorates; Cairo, Dakahlia, Gharbia, Ismailiah, Beni-suif and Assuit.
Demographic, special habits, HCV& liver condition Current medical diseases& treatment data were collected. Sexual function was evaluated using The Brief Sexual Symptom Check list for Men (BSSC-M) and the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF-5). Questions for seeking medical help for sexual dysfunction were asked.
