MAJOR LEG WOUND COMPLICATIONS AFTER SAPHENOUS VEIN HARVEST FOR CORONARY REVASCULARIZATION

Abstract
A 60 patient post recent CABG operation using the great saphenous vein as a venous conduit harvested via open technique were randomly selected and followed up for 6 months since January 2018 till June 2018 in the cardiothoracic outpatient clinic, Ain Shams University. We were looking for Major leg wound complication which was defined as a leg wound that had failed to respond to conservative treatment and required subsequent surgical intervention. Demographic information and leg wound management protocol in all 60 patients were obtained. perioperative risk factors associated with leg wound complications among these 60 patients analyzed. Risk factors examined in this study included age, gender, diabetes mellitus, peripheral vascular disease (PVD) and the number of GSV grafts. All data were then analyzed
In the first out-patient follow up visit, we tracked major leg wound complications and we found non. however other less serious complications were found such as edema, cutaneous nerve affection and wound healing disturbance
