Effect of Oral Zinc Sulfate in the Treatment of Neonatal Jaundice

Abstract
The body weigh in the three groups was in the average normal weight and there were no significant differences among the three groups neither in gestational age, length nor in body weight.
Regarding the demographic criteria of our study population females 65% in the placebo group and was 55% in the low dose zinc group while 60% in the high dose zinc group, there was no Significant difference for sex among the 3 group, also there was no statistical significance difference among the 3 groups regarding mode of delivery and type of feeding.
All our neonates were subjected to Laboratory investigations CBC, reticulocyte count, total serum bilirubin, direct serum bilirubin, albumin and blood culture at the time of admission (before the phototherapy) and the followed up by total and direct serum bilirubin on third and seventh day
