Evaluating the Properties of Product Made of Tool Steel Using Additive Manufacturing
Mohamed Mahmoud Abdellatif AbdelAzim;
Abstract
Additive Manufacturing (AM) is a recent technology to produce final products directly from data of computer that depend on producing the parts layer by layer with a thickness as less as 0.03 mm. One of the main Additive Manufacturing is the selective laser melting (SLM) which can produce high quality final metallic products.
In this research, Tool Steel H13 is selected to evaluate the feasibility of producing final products and Mold inserts for injection Moulding or High pressure die casting molds by selective laser melting technique (SLM). The variables that affect the quality of the final product were chosen. The size, porosity, microstructure and mechanical properties of the produced specimens were studied.
