Salwa Gamal Hussain Gomah;
Abstract
cne vulgaris is one of the most common inflammatory dermatoses affecting nearly all adolescents and a large proportion of adults. It is caused by multiple factors including propionibacterium acnes (P.acnes) activity, increased sebum production, androgenic stimulation, follicular hyper cornification, lymphocyte, macrophage and neutrophil inflammatory response, and cytokine activation.
Risk factors for acne scars development include acne (severity, location and duration), delay in treatment of acne, acne relapse after treatment and family history.
The best treatment of acne scars is to prevent the occurrence of scars by early protective treatment of acne. A number of treatments are available. Acne scar treatment procedures are; resurfacing procedures, lifting procedures, excisional techniques, skin needling, face lifting and combination techniques.
