Depression and suicidal ideations in relation to occupational stress in a sample of Egyptian medical residents

Abstract
Abstract
Residents are unfamiliar with the high prerequisites of patients and responsibilities making them feel incompetent and unworthy causing much pressure and continuous burden which could either help in their self-development or cause disorders.
This study hypothesized that the rate of occurrence of moderate and severe depression would probably be high among medical residents as well as an increased rate of suicidal ideation. This is mostly due to high demands and multiple stressors faced during residency years.
