Analytical study on certain antihypertensive drugs containing amino group

Abstract

This thesis is concerned with two combinations of antihypertensive drugs, the first combination is Azilsartan Medoxomil and Chlorthalidone while the second combination is Perindopril Arginine and Amlodipine Besylate. The aim of the work is to develop different methods for the determination of the four drugs of the two combinations in bulk powder, laboratory mixtures and pharmaceutical formulations. The proposed work includes UPLC, Spectrophotometric, Spectrofluorimetric and densitometric techniques. Two UPLC stability indicating assay methods were developed, the first method for determination of Azilsartan Medoxomil and Chlorthalidone in their dosage form and in presence of their degradation products, while the second method for determination of Perindopril Arginine and Amlodipine Besylate in their dosage form and in presence of their degradation products. Structure elucidation by LC-MS was performed for the degradation products of the four drugs.
