Abstract

Rhabdosargus haffara is one of the most important commercial fish family Sparidae in the Gulf of Suez. This fish has been cultured in Suez fish fanns from many years ago, but, fish fanner till know not used artificial diets in their fanns.
Fingerlings of Rhabdosargus haffara collected from Suez Bay and transfer to fiberglass tanks in NIOF marine laboratory in Suez branch for acclimatization then divided into tanks for feeding regime. Where they feed 3 % of the total body weight. So, the length and weight measured every two weeks and a new weight of meal a proved.
The present study dealt with the effect of different dietary protein sources sequence (1- fish, 2- fish and soybean, 3:- soybean, 4- blood and
5- control (fed on minced fish)) on growth performance (final weight, specific growth rate, average weight gain per day and food conversion rate), histology of gonads maturation and biochemical composition. Assessment of the results of these parameters will provide some valuable information about the best diet that can be used for rearing this fish.

1- Rearing and nutrition:

The results showed that:-

- The final growth recorded at the end of rearing and feeding period was

• as follow 48.96, 43.6, 25.93, 30.41 & 41.97 for diet sequence from 1 to 5 respectively.
- Specific growth rate (SGR) was recorded as follow 1.82, 1.76, 1.52,

1.58 & 1.67 from diet 1 to diet 5 respectively.

- Average weight gain (ADG) was showed as follows 0.16, 0.14, 0.09,

0.1 0, and 0.13 for protein sources sequence from 1 to 5.
