EVALUATION OF TUBULARIZED INCISED PLATE URETHROPLASTY FOR MANAGEMENT OF DISTAL PENILE HYPOSPADIAS

Mohamed Hassan Eid Radwan;

Abstract

Hypospadias is a congenital anomaly in which the urethral meatus tenninates on the ventral surface of the penis proximal to the normal site. It is a common congenital anomaly of the male urethra with an incidence of
3.2 in every 1000 live male birth.

Hypospadias is classified according to the anatomical site of hypospadias meatus into: glanular, distal penile, midpenile, penoscrotal, scrotal and perineal hypospadias. It can be also classified on a practical base into:
• Simple forms (anterior hypospadias) that need simple

corrective procedures.

• Sever forms (posterior hypospadias) that need more complicated corrective procedures.
There is no single known cause of hypospadias; unquestionably a

genetic factor exists, most likely based on a multifactorial mode of inheritance. • Hypospadias may be a • local manifestation of an• endocrinopathy rather than a local dysmorpbic problem and major cause may be a delay in maturation of hypothalamic- pituitary testicular axis and poor testicular response to human chorionic gonadotrophin injection.
