Transition Metal Complexes of Some Quinolyl Hydrazones

Abstract
In this study, five quinolyl hydrazones and their transition metal complexes were prepared and characterized on the basis of elemental and thermal analyses and spectroscopic studies. Mono-, bi- and trinuclear metal complexes as well as dimeric complexes were obtained. The hydrazones showed a wide variety of modes of bonding whilst their complexes exhibited a variety of structural arrangements (Oh, Td, Square planar, Square pyramid). The acidic hydrazone; AlloxHQa (H3La) showed an anomalous behavior towards Cu(II), Ni(II) and Co(II)- acetates as well as CuCl2 in presence of KOH. Also, its mixed ligand complexes with Phen and Oxine were obtained.
