Narges Essam El-din Marrey;

Abstract

Objective: to evaluate the relationship between Anti-Müllerian hormone level in women with polycystic ovary syndrome and response to induction of ovulation with Clomiphene Citrate (CC).
Methods: a prospective cross sectional- study was conducted at Ain-Shams University Maternity Hospital (outpatient infertility clinic) included forty women known to be having PCOS were divided into 2 groups according to follicular growth into successful group and unsuccessful group. According to many variables such as age, duration of infertility, body mass index, AMH level and follicular growth were obtained, assessed, and statistically ana¬lyzed.
Results: The AMH levels of patients with successful follicular growth were significantly lower (p=0.0001) than those with unsuccessful follicular growth (4.40±1.37 vs. 9.41±3.68 ng/mL).
Conclusion: The cutoff value of AMH level in predicting the failure of follicle growth in subjects with PCOS treated with Clomiphene Citrate was 6.7ng/mL.
Keywords: Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH); Clomiphene citrate (CC); polycystic ovary syndrome; ovarian follicle
