FACTORS AFFECTING URBAN FORM OF BORDER CITIES

Abstract


The research discusses the urban profile of political boundaries and the outbreak of states, nations and nationalism with a focus on borders urban communities, border cities have been affected by borders demarcation which was met with great enthusiasm, conflicts and wars, it was governed by global hegemony. There were many political, anthropological and economic influences on the border cities caused division, alteration of borders and conquest of territories.
The borders territory is a region where inhabitants can exchange ideas, traditions and cultures thus the research examines approximately 300 border cities, A sample of 60 cities which were completely different in location, area, political and social conditions, they were extracted for the statistical analysis based on 30 indicators related to the country, the city, the border impact and finally urban form, Another sample of 2 border cities were elicited for the urban analysis, it was represented in Berlin which included a field study visit to the city in April 2018 and the Egyptian city Rafah. In conclusion, the research determines the factors affecting urban form of border cities and creates a measurement procedure methodology for assessing, re-planning and developing border cities urban life.
