Effect of Blood Contamination on Some Properties of a Tricalcium Silicate Based Root End Filling Material (In Vitro Study)

Abstract

Endodontic microsurgery is commonly used for treatment of teeth with persistent pathosis or where conventional retreatment methods are contraindicated. After root resection and retrograde cavity preparation, retro-filling material is used to fill the cavity. Biodentine is a commonly used material for this purpose. During the application of retro-filling material, blood contamination could happen which might affect the biological and mechanical properties of the used material.
