The Value of Dual Energy Contrast Enhanced Digital Mammography and Dynamic Contrast Enhanced Magnetic Resonant Imaging in Diagnosis of Malignant Breast Masses

Mayada Gomaa Mohamed Behairy;

Abstract

BC is a major health problem that warranted efforts to be paid in order to increase the diagnostic capability of the routinely used diagnostic aids.

Breast imaging is currently undergoing a major change, with the
Wide spread implementation of FFDM equipments. These techniques may prove to be useful additions to standard mammography for some groups of women.

CEDE DM and DCE MRI are of the newly introduced techniques that could increase the diagnostic capability of conventional studies.

The aim of this work was to evaluate the diagnostic value of CEDE DM and DCE MRI in assessment of malignant breast masses.

Advantages of CEDE DM and DCE MRI in comparison to conventional studies (mammography and US):

• Improve sensitivity and specificity of the conventional studies (higher diagnostic accuracy for detecting breast cancers).
• Ability of detection of occult tumor missed by conventional methods.
