Abstract

AIM OF THE WORK
The main goal of this thesis is improving the physicochemical characteristics of the local base stock under investigation.
So, the aim of this work can be illustrated according to the following consequences:
 Delivering of local base stock from Co-operative Petroleum Company.
 Studying physicochemical characteristics of the delivered base stock sample according to standard test methods, ASTM and IP.
 Determination the oxidation stability of the base stock (blank sample) at (120 oC) with different time intervals.
 Preparation and characterization of some thiazolidinone derivatives, (with different concentrations), and using them as oxidation inhibitors for the delivered base stock at a certain high temperature with different time intervals.
 Studying the relation between the concentrations of the prepared antioxidants and their inhibition efficiency toward the delivered base stock.
