Abstract


Wadi Al-Afreet, North Western Coast of Egypt, holds many threatened range species especially endangered ones. This study identifies factors influencing the species and functional diversity of plant commuties in Wadi Al-Afreet. Floristic composition, species abundance and soil properties. Also, with the aid of geographical information system and remote sensing applications the general status of Wadi Al-Afreet has been assessed. The results showed that Wadi Al-Afreet comprised 73 species, Asteraceae had the highest contribution, therophytes and chamaephytes were the most frequent.
