Rainfall-Runoff Modelling Using Remote Sensing Data for Eastern Nile Watershed
Naglaa Mohamed Ahmed El-Bendary;
Abstract
This research aims to simulate the hydrological behavior of the basin and computes runoff at its outlet based on satellite images which represent rainfall data instead of using measured data which is unavailable or available in a limited extent or limited time span. This target could by applied using the Gridded Surface and Subsurface Hydrological Analysis (GSSHA) model.
Most of researches and studies in rainfall-runoff modelling topics depend on rainfall time series data as input to the model. In this research, the rainfall data assigned to the model in a 2D gridded format. Using of rainfall remote sensing data is a powerful tool to simulate watersheds in unreachable areas to setup rainfall measurement stations or in case of not enough data.
