Abstract
Total hip arthroplasty (THA) is one of the most successful surgical operationsthat improve function in patients with end-stage hip arthritis that is non-responsive to non-operative treatments
Instability remains a significant issue after both primaryand revision total hip arthroplasty. Dual mobility system providesan effective option in preventing and treating instability.
The dual mobility component consists of a stainless steelouter shell with a highly polished inner surface that articulateswith a mobile liner. This in turn articulates with the femoral head, which remains mobile yet captured within the liner.
