Abstract
This study included 40 patients with vanous unnary tract diseases .It was conducted at Urology and Diagnostic Radiology Departments, Assiut University Hospital from January 2000 to January
2001.The study included 27 males and 13 females with age range from one month to 59 years.
All the patients were subjected to histmy taking and clinical examination and were investigated by renal function tests (blood urea, serum creatinine) and US. Plain x-ray urinary tract was performed for.
38 patients, IVU for 20 patients, isotope renal scanning for 4 patients and CT scanning for 3 patients.
MRU was performed for all patients and its results were correlated with the final diagnosis, which was established by surgery and multi-modality imaging techniques.
Clinical presentation of 40 patients were: renal pain in 25 patients (62.5%), renal failure in 6 patients (15%), non-visualized kidney in 6 patients (15%), and hematuria in 3 patients (7.5%).
