A STUDY ON HARVESTING MACHINS DEVELOPMENT OF THRESHING DRUM OF CROP TIGER COMBINE TO SUIT HARVESTING RICE CROP

Adel Fathy Abdou Mohamed Abd Rabou;

Abstract

The experiments were carried out at Al-Morabain, Kafr El-Sheikh Governorat during harvesting season o( 97-1998. Two rice crop varieties (Giza 171, 177) were used.. The aim of the present study was to develope a threshing drum in combine Claas Crop Tiger. And evaluate the developed comparing with the original. The main objectives of the present study were :
1- To modify the threshing drum to suit rice harvesting and other cereal crop.
2- To determine the optimum operating conditions for both threshing drums (development drum and original drum).
3- To choose the most efficient and economic drum to thresh rice:under local conditions.
4- To optimize the operating parameters, whi.ch affect the performance of

combine devices.

a) The total grain losses, ( % ).

c) The grain yield ( t/fed).

e) Performance efficiency, (% ).

g) Cost Analysis .

b) The husked grain,(%).

d) Effective field capacity, (fed/h).

f) Fuel consumption, (Lih).

h) Comparative value, (L.E/fed)

The variables under study were as follows:

1- Four level of grain moisture contents (22.2, 20.5, 18.6 and 16.2% for nee crop Giza, 177). And (four levels: 23.8, 20.4, 19.5, and 15.9% for rice crop Giza 171 ).
2- Four level of cylinder speeds 17.9 (760), 19.39 (825), 21.6 (920) and

24.33 (I 035) m/s (r.p.m).

3- Four level of forward speeds (1.08 ,1.44, 1.8 and 2.16 km/h).

4- Drum types (the developed drum and the original drum).
