ABNORMAL GAITS
Mohamed Rifaat Mohamed;
Abstract
The smoothness of mormal gait is achieved by a series of asynchromous actions at the pelvis, hip, knee, and ankle. Timing and strength are determined by graduated muscle control to pr?vide a mechanism of gait that's away from sudden changes in any directions.
We have studied the kinematics which, in gait analysis refers to body segment displecements and their relation to time and the kinetics which is the study of the forces that produce movements.
- Events in the gait. cycle
It includes - stance phase
- swing phase.
- Temporal aspects of the gait cycle.
during relaxed, free speed walking, average values for the duration of each phase of gait are as follows:-
-Weight acceptance, 11%, singlelimb stance, 39%.
- Weight release, 11% and swing phase, 39% of the gait cycle.
