Abstract


The research aims to verify the effectiveness of integrative counseling program in developing self-compassion for improving mental mealth among a sample university student and identify the relationship between self-compassion and mental health for a sample of university student. The descriptive sample consisted of (357) students from faculty of Education, University Ain Shams from(146) male and (211) female aged (18-23) years old the average age of the them are (20,241) and the standard deviation is (1,224) .The experimental sample was (20) students and they were selected from the previous sample on the condition that they had below 27% in the degrees of the two measures (self-compassion and mental health). This sample was divided into two equal samples (empirical-controlling) and equal in age and intelligence and Family and socioeconomic level .The research Arabized self-compassion scale of Neff (2003), and mental health scale by (researcher), and also the setting of the integrative counseling program.The research resulted in the following findings: The varied a statistically significant positive correlation between the of self compassion and mental health, the effectiveness of the program integrative counseling in developing self-compassion for improving mental health among a sample of university student.
