Comparison between different surface treatments on Implant Stability in Implant Retained Mandibular Overdenture
Moaz Mohamed Mahmoud Eid;
Abstract
This in- vivo study was carried out to evaluate the correlation between implant surface treatment and implant stability in implant retained mandibular overdenture by using OSSTELL®.
Ten completely edentulous patients were selected from the outpatient clinic, Removable Prosthodontics Department, Faculty of Dentistry, Ain Shams University to participate in this study. Patients were precisely selected and thoroughly examined in an attempt to reduce human variables and eliminate any factor that might adversely affect the success of this treatment modality.
Two groups were introduced according to the surface treatment of the implant used. Group 1: Implants with soluble blast media hydroxy appetite (SBM) surface treatment, Group 2: Implants with silica acid etched (SLA) surface treatment.
