Health-Related Quality of Life Assessment in Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis

Abstract


Juvenile idiopathic arthritis is the most common form of chronic arthritis in children and adolescents. It affects physical functioning and mental health, and also impact school and home functioning. We therefore sought to investigate the level of HRQOL in a group of Egyptian children suffering from JIA by using the PedsQL testing which consists of 23 items and covers Physical, emotional, social, and school functioning and wellbeing in relation to various modes of onset. The ultimate objective of this pilot study is to stimulate efforts of improving the quality of life of JIA patients and their families.
