MANAGEMENT AND COMPLICATIONS OF THORACOABDOMINAL AORTIC ANEURYSM .
Ahmed Abdel-Samed Mohammed Desoky;
Abstract
TAA are those aneurysms that involve both the descending thoracic aorta and varying portions of the abdominal aorta.
Irrespective of etiology, the expected natural history of Thoracoabdominal aneurysms is progressive enlargement and eventual rupture.
Although presentation in totally asymptomatic fashion is common, symptoms referable to the TAA are often seen.
Despite continued advances in medical therapy, conventional resection and graft replacement remains the treatment of choice for these more extensive aortic aneurysms.
